IMG_9700-editedHeidi has an unbridled passion to help women discover their full potential and inspire them to unleash their extraordinary beauty from the inside out.  For 25 years she has been doing this through Bible teaching, speaking at Conferences, Retreats, writing, mentoring or one-on-one conversations over a cup of freshly brewed coffee.

Heidi was the prodigal daughter. She rebelled against all her family’s values, against God and was determined that she would succeed in doing “life her way.” At age 32, Heidi began her relationship with God when she allowed Him to take her from living in the pit, to experiencing outrageous forgiveness, radical love and a transformed heart and life. She married her first husband Dick at the young age of 19 and then 5 years later they had their magnificent bundle of joy; Michelle.  Two years and 7 days later they had adorable, smiley, cheerful Donovan.

Two weeks before Christmas in 1994, her husband Dick went out to a local high school gym to play basketball with his favourite team. That night while playing the game that he was passionate about his entire life, he died from heart failure.

For months Heidi felt as though she was floating in dark, murky water gasping for air and trying to stay afloat. But it was also at this point in her life when she began to be “completely sold out for God” and hung on to Him with every breath. She needed Him desperately. God was with her.

Over time she met a wonderful man named Jack, whose wife had died of cancer. They became amazing friends and eventually married.

Jack and Heidi were blissfully married for over 21 years.  On November 15th, 2016, as Jack went into the kitchen for a cup of coffee, he dropped on the floor and died of a heart attack. Jack was the love of Heidi’s life. The valley of the shadow of death was a time of deep grief for Heidi and her family, but our God is a God of hope and healing of broken hearts.

Even though Heidi has been widowed twice, she is even more passionate about her ministry and speaking to audiences all over North American and abroad. She wants the world to know that the goodness of God’s love, grace and hope is real and is available to everyone.

Heidi is the mother and step-mother of a blended family of 5 children, 2 daughters-in-love, 3 sons-in-laws and 9 grandchildren. God not only restored her soul, but he also restored her life. Heidi retired from 21 years of her “day job” as  a controller for a Volkswagen and Audi Car Dealership. She loves the occasional consulting because  “it helps me to see the reality of daily struggles we encounter in the work force in the 21st century.”

Heidi is an international speaker and loves to speak to women at Conferences and Retreats in Canada, the United States and in Europe. Presently, Heidi along with Grace Fox and Kelita Haverland, is a member of RADIANT, a team which conducts day conferences in Canada.  She is also a very active member of WOMEN TOGETHER, a Canadian team which networks and empowers women globally. As part of this team, yearly she hosts 5 Global Leadership Webinars designed to train women to be better leaders. She is also part of the Carol Kent Speak Up Team, the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association of American and The Word Guild for Canada. She is also the contributor of several blogs, magazines and writes devotionals for ARISE DAILY and THE STORY..

Heidi is passionate, authentic and funny. This is what the Pastor of her home church says about her:

“Heidi is one of those rare individuals with the gift of being able to communicate incredible insight and truth in the context of real life. She’s dynamic and compelling. Heidi’s presentations emerge out of a life of dedication and service to God and her church. Her messages ring true because they’re backed by her own contagious walk with God.”

Dr. Tim Schroeder, Teaching Pastor of Heidi’s Home Church, Trinity Baptist Church, Kelowna, BC.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

Heart Connection Ministry

God – There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus – Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died upon the cross, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace.

Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit is a divine Person, sent to indwell, guide, teach and empower the believer, and to convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment.

Bible – The Old and New Testaments, inspired by God and written through the prophets, are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of people. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.

Sin – Humankind, originally created in the image and likeness of God, fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All people are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ. The destiny of the impenitent and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment, but that of the believer is everlasting joy and bliss.

Freedom from Sin – Salvation has been provided only through Jesus Christ. Those who repent and believe in Him are united with Christ through the Holy Spirit and are thereby regenerated (born again), justified, sanctified and granted the gift of eternal life as adopted children of God.

Christian Living – It is the will of God that in union with Christ each believer should be sanctified, thereby being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to God, receiving power for holy living and sacrificial and effective service toward the completion of Christ’s commission. This is accomplished through being filled with the Holy Spirit, which is both a distinct event and progressive experience in the life of the believer.

Healing – Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body. Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil as taught in the Scriptures are privileges for the Church in this present age.

Church – The universal Church, of which Christ is the Head, consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and commissioned by Christ to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the Gospel to all nations.

Local Church – The local church is the visible expression of the universal Church, is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together to worship God, to observe the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, to pray, to be edified through the Word of God, to fellowship, and to testify in word and deed to the good news of salvation both locally and globally.
